When we booked our first cruise, prior to becoming travel advisors, we didn't know what we didn't know. We called the cruise line directly, not realizing we actually needed help even selecting the right cruise cruise line for us, let alone the right ship. It turns out the ship was old, the room was tiny, and the food was disappointing. No one at the cruise line was going to point us in a different direction or mention any drawbacks. They simply booked what we asked for. We also overlooked hidden costs and hadn’t budgeted accordingly. It took us 10 years to try cruising again. That experience taught us the importance of pairing the right traveler with the right trip, and it’s why we do things differently when booking travel for you.

Where are you located?We’re based in Farmington, Missouri, but we work with clients all across the U.S. Since we operate virtually, all of our communication is done through email, phone, or video calls. This allows us to work together no matter where you're located, without the need for in-person meetings.

How much does it cost to work with a travel advisor?At Blue Sky Adventures, our initial consultation is free, and fees for trip planning vary based on the complexity of the trip. If you already have all the details planned and just need us to handle the booking and provide support, there’s no additional charge. For trips that require research and a custom itinerary, a planning fee may apply. We make sure all fees are clearly outlined upfront, so you’ll know exactly what to expect before we proceed.

Do you offer payment plans?Yes, many of our travel partners offer flexible payment plans. Most trips only require a minimal deposit at the time of booking, with the remainder due closer to the travel date. No payments are usually required in between. However, please note that the payment options and final payment dates are set by the supplier we book your trip with, not by us. We’ll provide you with all the details and deadlines upfront, so you’ll know exactly when and how payments need to be made.

How are my trip payments processed?When booking a trip with us, your payment is made directly to the travel supplier (such as the airline, hotel, or cruise line) using your debit or credit card. Blue Sky Adventures does not handle or collect payments for your vacation. The only cost paid directly to us is the planning fee (if applicable). This ensures your funds go straight to the company providing the travel service.

How do you handle changes or cancellations?We understand that plans can change. We’ll work with you to adjust your bookings if needed, though changes and cancellations are subject to the policies of the airlines, hotels, or cruise lines. Additionally, per our terms and conditions, there may be a fee from us for handling changes or cancellations. We’ll always be upfront about any costs involved and will help you explore all available options.

Can you help me with last-minute bookings?Yes, we can definitely assist with last-minute bookings. However, because availability can be harder to find within 30 days of travel, we may charge an additional fee for these bookings. This is to ensure we can prioritize your trip and move quickly before options change. We’ll work diligently to secure the best possible arrangements for you, even on short notice.

Can you help me with my booking if I’ve already started planning my trip?If you booked your trip on your own and encounter an issue or have questions, we’re happy to assist where possible. Please note that since we didn’t arrange the booking, some services may be limited, and fees may apply for our assistance. However, if you booked your trip in the last 30 days and haven’t paid in full yet, we may be able to take over as your travel agent. Contact us as soon as possible to explore this option. In most cases, if we can take over the booking, you become our client at no extra cost, and we’ll be available to handle your questions and provide full support.

Do you book group travel or destination weddings?Yes! We love helping with group travel—whether it's a destination event, family reunion, social group, or corporate retreat. These trips are a bit more complex and require a lot of attention, so our pricing depends on the level of planning involved and the size of the group. We'll go over all the details during our initial consultation to make sure everything is just right for your group. While we don’t book the group's specific events, like wedding ceremonies or corporate conferences, we’ll connect you with the right people at your destination to handle those arrangements. No matter the size, we’ll take care of the hard work so you can focus on enjoying your trip!

Do you book flights?Yes, but we only book airline tickets as part of a larger vacation package that you’ve hired us to arrange. This ensures we can provide full support and coordination for your trip. Whether you're booking a cruise, all-inclusive resort, or guided tour, we’ll happily assist with your flights as part of the complete package.

Can You Book a Vacation Rental Property (like Airbnb or VRBO)?No, we do not book vacation rental properties like Airbnb or VRBO. These properties are managed by individual owners, and because of this, we can’t ensure their quality or offer support if something goes wrong. They also don’t work with travel advisors, meaning bookings are done directly between the renter and the property owner. For peace of mind, we focus on accommodations where we can provide full backing and assistance.

What happens if there’s an emergency during my trip?If something goes wrong during your trip, just call or text us, and we’ll jump in to help. Whenever possible, we’ll take care of the situation for you. If it’s something we can’t resolve directly, we’ll connect you with your travel supplier or insurance company to make sure you get the help you need. No matter what, we’re here to support you and ensure your trip goes as smoothly as possible.
